G Thunder Jet
Single-seat Fighter-Bomber
capable of deploying nuclear weapons, equiped with Auto pilot
In
December 1955( Dey 1334 ) 14 pilots from P-47 Thunder Bolt
squadron were sent to Fursten Feldbrook
( USAF base in Germany ) to become
“Jet Pilots”
.
After completion of “Jet Pilot Training” 9 of
them returned back to Iran (Including General Khatami Commander
of the Air Force) and 5 pilots remained in Germany to become
“Jet Instructor
Pilot”.
These 5 were :
Maj. Nader Jahanbani
( Later Maj. General, Killed by Islamic Regime
in 1979 )
Capt. Siamak Jahanbini
( Killed in Air Craft Crash)
Capt. Amir Hossein
Rabii (Killed by Islamic Regime
in 1979 )
Lt. Iraj Mokhaberi
( Killed in
Air Craft Crash )
Lt. Abdolhossein

By the time these 5 became “Jet Instructor
Pilot” and returned to Iran, the Imperial Iranian Air
Force had received it’s first Jet Trainer T-33 ( total
of 8 Ship). ( 29 April 1956 = 9 Ordibehesht 1335)
These 5 Jet Instructors start to teach other pilots to fly
Jets, Shortly after (15May 1957 = 25 Ordibehesht 1336 )Imperial
Iranian Air Force received it’s first “Jet Fighters”
F-84 G ( Total of 34 ).
2 Squadron of F-84 were formed, both in Tehran, Mehrabad (1st
Tactical Fighter Base).
These squadrons were 11th. Tactical Fighter Sq. and 12th.
Tactical Fighter Sq.
The First Imperial Iranian air Force Demonstration Team called
“ Golden Crown “
also formed with F-84-G with the leadership of Maj. Nader
Jahanbani.
The 2nd Tactical Fighter Base " Vahdati" near Dezful
was also operational by 2 squadron of F-84 on 1959
( 5 Azar 1338 ) and the first Base Commander was General Naeimi
Rad.
